Roofing & More Employee Spotlight: Gene DavisRoofing & More welcomes Gene Davis, Operations Manager, to our team! Gene brings deep experience to his new position, having worked in the local construction industry for more than 20 years with a focus on office management, field supervision, quality control and customer satisfaction. As operations manager, Gene is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the production department and staff.      

Gene believes his greatest professional strength is his ability to create a “cohesive and efficient team environment” by encouraging individual participation and open discussion on how to improve and achieve company goals. He appreciates the passion and enthusiasm of the Roofing & More team, and feels the company is set apart from other roofing companies in Herndon, VA, by the quality of its people and “a constant effort to not only succeed, but continually improve what we do and the way we do it.”

“This begins with our very first interaction and continues through the actual project execution and the final review of our customer’s satisfaction with the job,” he explains.

Originally from Round Hill, Va., Gene attended George Mason University, Elim Bible Institute and Glendale Community College. He and his wife, Linda, have been married for 31 years and have two adult daughters, who he describes as his proudest accomplishment. “They have grown into beautiful and confident adults with a great grasp of what has value in this life,” he says.

In his free time, Gene enjoys camping and playing music with his wife and friends at local churches. He also finds great joy in gathering with friends for food and fellowship, “to discuss life and what that looks like from God’s Word.” In the future, he and Linda hope to spend more time in mission endeavors around the world, “using the gifts and skills God has blessed us with to help others find their way.”

Gene’s favorite place to dine out is Jasmine’s in Leesburg – “best sushi around the area that we have found” – and his favorite TV shows are the BBC’s Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Who. His favorite sports teams are the Washington Redskins and the Washington Nationals. If he could go anywhere for a day, he would go to the beach and enjoy the ocean.

Gene would give others the following advice about life: “Build a life in such a way that, in and through God, your way of life allows you the freedom and flexibility to pursue the dreams He has placed deep in your soul.”
